iPads run amok: Does your company need a tablet policy? – Computerworld

Yes, you absolutely need a tablet policy.

It doesn’t matter if your organization is using them for “official” business purposes, or just if your employees are using them occationally, you need a policy.

Check out the article.  It’s pretty good.

This is really cool.  Gotta love the tear drop shape and the thin profile.  Oh yeah. the screen size is cool also.

You have to wonder how many of these “rumors” Apple seeds intentionally. No matter false or true, you always wonder.

Amazon to take on Apple this summer with Samsung-built tablet? — Engadget

Amazon to take on Apple this summer with Samsung-built tablet? — Engadget

That assumes that:

#1 – Samsung does implode over the impending loss of Apple’s business. There’s a big brouhaha occurring between the two over what Apple sees as infringement of their product designs. They may have a point. Samsung is a huge supplier of parts for Apple. Why bite the apple that feeds you? Who knows.

#2 – The products don’t get buried in lawsuit hell. See #1.

Holy earnings batman!

Did anyone else read/see that Apple, Intel and Cisco reported their quarterly earnings today?

Intel reported numbers that were “Amazing”.  Cisco reported, “better than expected results”, and Apple….well.  Let’s just say they added another $6 billion to their cash on hand.

Dang!

I keep thinking that maybe this is a sign that companies aren’t hoarding cash anymore and are starting to spend on tech again.  That would be a good thing.

Really? Again?

Researchers display evidence that iOS 4 records all your travels, again (updated) — Engadget

Really Apple?  Again?

Do you really need to do this?  Seriously.  Other companies have gotten into a lot of trouble for sH*t like this in the past.

You don’t need to be pulling this sort of thing.

WTF?!?

Adobe finds another ‘critical’ flaw in Flash, Steve Jobs smiles smugly — Engadget

While I’m not a huge Flash fan, I’m not a Flash Basher either.

There’s a place for it on the web.  There are things it does well.

However, I also agree with Jobs that it’s not suited for Mobile Devices.  Lots of reasons.

And that fact is really sad.

Personally, I think Adobe could devote more time to fixing Flash and concentrating on HTML 5.

It’s things like this that just give the Flash Bashers more ammo in the great big “grumpy match” that seems to be never ending.
